About
For 20 years Michael McNamara has worked where real estate, media and technology meet. He built ZenHouse Collective, a Los Angeles media company behind more than 10,000 property campaigns, including homes for clients like Elon Musk and Madonna and the $200M Spelling Manor, and served as Creative Director of Lion & Orb, speaking at Sotheby's International conferences. He co-founded ListingZen with computer scientist Artur Grigoryan to bring the scattered people, vendors and tools around every listing into one working whole. Today he is a licensed real estate agent in New Hampshire and photographs homes in New Hampshire, Los Angeles and Austin through ThisHouse Media. One thread runs through all of it. Michael works with the unseen layer of people and organizations, the currents beneath the visible problems. A photographer learns that a room works when light, space and line agree, and that the best image captures something felt as much as seen. A founder learns that a company works when its people, tools and purpose resonate. Michael brings that way of seeing to the people and organizations he works with: naming the friction beneath the obvious problems, and helping each part find its place in something larger than itself. His writing explores creation, growth and coherence, and the fields we feel long before we can name them, from families to companies. At its center is a simple idea: every meeting creates friction before it creates harmony, and the work is helping it get there. When it does, the whole becomes far more than the sum of its parts.
"We're all dropping stones into the same water. The work is learning what to do when the ripples meet."
What I've Built

Say Hello
I like talking with people who are building where homes, people and technology meet. If something here sparked an idea, tell me about it.
